Hi guys,

I acquired one of these as part of a package but it needs some work. I need to get a system disk etc. Does anyone know how to go about this. Is it worth fixing up?

Hi Xabiton,

thanks for your reply and link. I think I will give it a go, no harm in spending 20 dollars!

Actually the OS can be found on the internet for free - but it might of course be easier to simply buy a working disk instead of trying to find a computer that still has a floppy drive and the futzing around with the right formatting...

I used a W30 for some of my earliest sample-based tracks (back in '91). Incredibly difficult to use back then but you get the hang of it over time. The one I used was my uncle's and he had it down to a science and he showed me the basics of using it. The 12 bit sampler is really clean sounding compared to the akai s900/950's, so if you're looking for that classic 12 bit crunch, this is definitely not the joint to use.
