yea i have a Rack version... and it use CF cards, i brought a 8GB CF Card from Roland. but the internal sample Ram that ships wit it is 15MB? i belieave... i Load the sounds in it and it plays but not all of them it says "Max Sample Time".
sometimes it don't even load up the full Folder of samples thats bout 65MB.
so im like "if i got 8GB inwhich is worth a shit load of time in storage, they or how the **** im out of sample time?" ain't that shit considered storage as if i ain't sampling cause its already Sampled samples in Memory??
Cause if that was the case i would have just got the 512MB and said **** the CF card ..

The CF card is for storage. It is not the same thing as RAM. To increase the sample time you will definitely have to up the ram.

I also have a xr rack you need to add the 128mb ( 10 bucks ) ram to it. You can use the cf to load and save on but it is not ram.
