Mpc1000 vs Mpc2000 xl

Both have their pros and cons just depends on what suits you best.
For me,it's the XL.But the 1000 is solid also.

Peace

As far as ease of use mpc 2000xl all day, plus I prefer the sound quality. MPC 1000 sounds a bit 'digital' for me.

But on the other hand you get the fx built in the 1000, you can get them much cheaper and you have crazy storage options like internal hard drives etc.

Hope that helps

re

im not sure they are really vintage yet (they are still "old", vintage is close to 20+ years imo), at least the 1000 isnt. All mpcs have 16 levels. The differences are mainly in size, fx built in, floppy vs cf, sound very slightly different, 1000 has output board stock, pads may an issue on 1000, display may be an issue on xl. None of that stuff is make or break imo, its more of what works for you.

To me they are both closer to the same than different. The world runs off computers now so having that usb on the 1000 is very handy as long as you fix them pads. The 2000 and 2000xl feel much better though. I also have never heard of the 1000 screen dying out that is a common issue on the 2000s

The MPC1000 is far superior to the MPC2000xl in the sample editing department.
Better chopping, more chops per sample, patch phrase I can go on and on.
