mpc 500 and mpc 1000

i wanted to know which one i should get the 500 or 1000, i just wanted to use it for drums and samples not really for sequencing i got pro tools for that. i wanted to know wats the difference besides the the 12 and 16 pads. i wanna know everything sample time, does it sound clear, pitch shifting capabilities, time stretching, and so forth... thanks i was tryin 2 save sum dough......

first of all i think that the 1000 is a better deal, however...
look at the sp series as well. if you want a pc friendlier drum machine it seems like the 606/555 might be less $!
