MPC 1K Q-Link Question

I am wondering what I am doing wrong. I have done it in REAL TIME and NOTE. I am trying to use the q-link TUNE on my snare roll. When I record it, in record mode its right but when i take it out of record mode its at the tone where the slider is. Is there something wrong or can you not record the q-link motion?
 
You can, there's a setting you have to change, sorry I don't remeber it right now, but trust me, you can do it.
 
does anyone know? I didnt even know you could do this until today lol!!!
