So I thought that I would need a mixer in order to sample vinyl records, however, I was recently told that if the turntable has a built in preamp that the mixer is not necessary. Is this true? If so, would this turntable be suitable so that I can start sampling directly to the MPC. Is the price and quality on this ok for sampling. Thanks y'all.

Here's the link to the table:
Amazon.com: Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Stereo Turntable System, Silver: Audio Technica At-Lp60 Belt-Drive Turntable: Musical Instruments

Well, you don't really need a mixer - you just need that phono preamp in one form or another. You can also get phono pres separately, so no need to be limited to just tt's that have built-in ones.

That AT-LP60 will do just fine.

Thank you. I just figured that it would save me money by not having to by a mixer. Have you heard anything about this manufacturer or price compared to others. I'm strictly looking to sample into the MPC. Not trying to do any crazy mixing or anything.
