Mpc 1000 memory

I'm thinking about buying an mpc 1000 and I found one that memory is messed up is it possible to only work with the external memory compact flash drive?
 
i dont know for sure, but my guess is no.. i dont think its possible to load the OS from an external source, but i might be wrong
 
I think everything works but you can't save your work is what he meant... So is it a hassle to just save to the cf card or any other external memory?
 
oh my bad, yeah that works fine.. I never use the internal memory, i have a 1000 and allways save my work and have my samples and drums on a CF card.. 2GB..
