midi data gettin sent to mpc but not back to tha sound generator in motif

i turn tha local off on tha motif because i want to use it as a slave to tha mpc i know tha midi data is gettin recorded on tha mpc but its not sendin tha signal back out to tha motif to signal tha sound?ive tried all tha setting ?if its workin right and i got tha local off i should hear tha sould just like tha local was on but it goes out to tha mpc and tha mpc sends it back to tha motif and to tha sound block in tha motif right?does this mean maybe my midi in on tha motif is broke?i know its not tha mpc because i just bought it brand new.i got tha motif off graigslist but tha guy was coo and said any problems let em know...he said everything works on it?i cant figure out why tha mpc isnt sendin back out tha midi signal to tgha motif?

You need to have "soft thru" turned ON ... on the MPC.

it is on..set on as track..i think it has something to do with tha motif..its like tha sound generator isnt excepting tha signal from tha mpc to play tha sound...but i know tha message is gettin to tha mpc just not back to tha motif?
