Question about a turntable

basically im looking at buying a stanton t52 (cant really afford anything better than that).

my question is- must i buy a mixer along with it? i know it would be useful to have one if i ever wanted to get a full set of decks and start djing, but would just a preamp be enough if i just wanted to sample off the t52????

You don't really need a mixer - but you'll need a phono preamp. These can be bought as standalone units or, well, built in a DJ mixer (almost all of them have those).
