Hi,
I currently make tracks in Ableton and bounce then put in a Digitech JamMan Solo XT to play the backing for solo live shows.
I want to start using a simple light setup synced to the tracks. My plan was to create the lighting tracks as midi in ableton and put on a hardware playback device that could play the midi and stereo audio file simultaneously, then run the midi through a midi to DMX convertor and to the light.
I don't want to use a laptop. I've used them a lot in the past on stage and always feel more comfortable with a hardware setup for ruggedness/simplicity/not worrying about it getting stolen etc.
So does anyone know of a device capable of this? Ideally pretty compact and able to be controlled via a foot pedal (midi input or other)? MPC 500 looks like it would take too long to load tracks. Everything else I've looked at seems like overkill.
Any tips?
Thanks.
