Novation Nova error, NEED HELP

Yesterday i used my dad's old Novation nova after it had been sitting in a box for +-2 years. It worked great! But today it gave me the folowing error:

Flash write error !! Switch off & re-try.

ofcourse i have tried to restart it a couple of times but this didn't work. all buttons are frozen, nothing happens when you press them. I couldn't find anything in the manuall and no solutions on the internet. Does any of you maybe know how to solve this error?

Sounds like an OS failure. You can still download the latest OS & updating instructions from Novation's site (the updating procedure requires an external sequencer that can output MIDI). They're really old - the PDF mentions "Atari and Amiga", but MIDI hasn't changed over the years, so it should still work the same. It's of course possible that the OS chip is physically broken, in which case it would require servicing...
