No Mic. iPhone?

Well i been mixing and reading threads for 6 months now. I'm far from knowing much other than what I was taught in high school (marching band, basic music theory) and YouTube. What I want to know is the iPhone mic quality good enough to record. I have good speakers with a bass amp. So if I record in my closet, would the qualit be good? Have any of you tried this?

I'm no expert, but I would definitely say no. You could buy a decent condenser mic for just over a $100 bucks.
