The new MPC's

I have followed the development of the new MPC's from Akai. Here i think about the ren, and the new touch. I was wondering, arent they just MPD's? I mean they are just controllers now, with no standalone oppertunities.
 
Ren is more like half standalone, but you cant use it standalone. Its something between standalone and controller. If that makes anysense.....
 
They really should do standalone version of mpc ren. I dont understand why they just dont do it.
Actyally I heard rumors that "next version of ren" is standalone. Dont know if thats true,
 
I feel like the reason they didnt make the ren a standalone is because of the release of the 5000...
