Need knowledgeable people to help me set up MPC1000 to FL studio.

I've heard that you can record audio into FL studio producers edition. I essentially want to connect my MPC1000 to fl studio to record drums, and use the MPC pads to control synths. I've tried using MIDI and the closest I got was having the mpc bar line move when I pressed play in FL studio, but nothing I do with the MPC registers. I'm a noob at this shit, I'll admit so if someone has some time to go post some detailed steps on how I can get this to work, I'd really appreciate it. I'm using JJos2XL , not that it should matter.

Hi... Go to Options, then Audio settings and change your Sound Driver (if you didn't do that), after that you can go to MIDI section and just enable your advice.
