I upgraded my macbook to 10.7 Lion and began having issues with my Duet first gen audio interface. Whenever the CPU spikes it offlines my Duet and I have to reinitialize it in my DAW preferences to get audio back. Never happened before on Snow Leopard. My set up is macbook 2.4ghrz, 4 Gig RAM, Intel dual core, powered usb hub with a keyboard and Maschine, external drive connected. Running applicable Apogee drivers.
I tried a usb audio interface and though I have encountered audio drops when CPU spikes at times it does recover and I do not need to reinitialize the interface. I'm thinking it's either an issue with Lion and the Apogee driver, possibly a bus power issue and/or buffer issue.
I'm continuing to test the usb interface (Focusrite), it seems to be an improvement at the moment though I like the Duet converters better. Considering trying the Duet 2 or keeping the Duet 1 for tracking vocals and getting a Focusrite for general in the box composing and mixing.
Anyone have any experience with this issue, any suggestions? Thanks.
