My midi keyboard not working via MIDI?

Hi there!

I have an AKAI MPK 49 keyboard which I am trying to use via the midi ports. So I'm using a 5 pin midi cable connected from the midi out of my keyboard to the midi in of my M Audio Firewire 410 audio interface.
For some reason when I open logic and try to use it there is no signal coming in... I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what is wrong..
Just thought someone on here might be able to help?

Maybe check out this tutorial. You probably just need to enable the correct MIDI input via your interface in logic.

check in the drivers for your interface and then logic that you have not turned off the midi in

What are you trying to access when you open Logic to use your MPK, the MIDI inputs on the 410 that the MPK is connected to right? I mean you arn't expecting the MPK to show up like a USB MIDI interface when connected to the 410 via a conventional serial MIDI cable are you?
