Helpp with Logic And M-Audio Producer mic

I use logic 8 and i recent got a m-audio producer mic but when i plug it up and change the settings to use the mic all of the audio goes through the headphone jack on the mic and not the cpu out put, does anybody know how to use the mic without having to use the mics headphone jack
