Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for mixing?

the sound card will be as accurate as anything else in that price range. Of more importance is your speaker/monitor setup: how flat their frequency response is
 
Yep. The interface will be the least decisive factor here. Of course the converters do matter, but in this price range it's more or less the same anyway. Let's put it this way: if your mixes suck, it's no use to blame this thing for it :)
 
When i am on the road or can not get to my benchmark d/a for mixing i use a saff pro 24 dsp with vrm tech, its great and small and has a ton of options for making cue mixes to check on different monitors and environments. So i would say for the price its as good as anything else in that range.
