MPC as MIDI controller

hi all,

i know that the MPC can trigger sounds and control MIDI volume to a target MIDI divice but...

can all of the buttons be assigned in MIDI ?

could i, for example, use the transport buttons and data wheel to control transport functions in Cubase ?

i had an MPC2000 years ago but that was long before i had a software sequencer so i never checked out those functions. now i'm thinking about getting either an MPC200XL or an MC-909 but the winner will have to be able to preform these functions with Cubase.

The MPC can send MMC so the transport buttons will work w/ Cubase. I'm afraid the data wheel and the other buttons won't work.

Just as an aside ... note that the Emu Command Stations have 16 knobs which can be set to transmit any MIDI CC information you want.
