I'v only been producing seriously for about a year and I'm starting to look more into mastering my tracks but I know its best done with speaker monitors. I'm only 15 so I don't have a job. So I'm looking for some CHEAP BUT GOOD speaker monitors that could help me on my journey into the mastering world! Any Suggestions? Thanks.

Much Love

depending on your budget, if you're going really cheap you're almost better off with a pair of like sony bookshelf speakers than some of the cheaper model monitors

ahhh I remember when I was 15......Could barely lay down a drum loop without a porno window popping up in front on fl

I picked up my KRK Rokit 6's for 230 bucks in mint condition for the pair. May be out of your price range but if I were you I'd save up some lunch money and start haggling on craigslist until you work out a deal with somebody. A lot of people buy studio equipment thinking theyre going to magically become brilliant musicians and then give up quickly- then wanting to get their broken dreams out of sight will let their near brand-new equipment go for a fraction of the price. I bet you can find the same monitors I got for at least 50 bucks less.

I suggest that whatever monitors you end up with, chuck your final product on an audio device (as WAV or AIFF- avoid MP3) and go around using different systems, like your parents hi-fi, car system, headphones… just to get different environments. That way, if it sounds good on all systems, you're mastering your mixes well and then it shouldn't matter too much what monitors you use.

Monitors are one of the most important things, it's your biggest ally in using your most expensive tool. (your ears) Since you don't make a lot of money I wouldn't go wasting $200 on something that will need to be upgraded soon. Save man, go ahead and get you something nice. Search craiglist all the time! You can get some KRK6's for around $200 used. Not sure if this helps but i hope so!
