hello to everybody. i been thinking to buy a preamp or a channel strip.

if i buy a channel strip i think i am gonna buy neve or ssl so the sound will be close or similar to their consoles.
now about the preamp. i been thinking ams neve 1073 dpa or dpd (any1 knows if the converter is any good or it would be better to get the dpa and a separate converters?)
focusrite red 8, millennia hv-3cI or universal audio 2-610s

any suggestions, ideas? the sound i wanna get is warm and vintage something like 60s/70s/80s. but i still want to sound good on any music style.

Instead of dropping all that dough on a neve you could get:

Great River
Vintech x73i/x73
Golden Age Projects Pre-73

Converter:
Apogee Rosetta 200
Lynx Auora 8

All-in-one:
Ssl x-logic Alpha Channel
Api A2D

For the price of the neve 1073 you could get a ssl x-desk, then you'll really be getting that ssl sound. I think the neve 1073 dpa as a power supply problem.

I go with the great river me-1nv and the rosetta 200 or the API A2D. Either way you go you're set.
