I am a trance producer for many years and have always used premium acapellas in my tracks.
A little while ago a professional singer asked me to record her voice but unfortunately I do not know what to purchase to even get the job done properly.
Based on your experienced, with a limited budget, what would be the best microphone purchase to record a voice with a chrystal clear sound + which external sound card shall I use to power that mic as I have a UA-25 but it keeps crashing on windows 7 64bit...a total nightmare.
Also I would like to know if you could explain to me a little bit the phantom power and XLR cables for mics, how does it works please? I have noticed that sometime these cables are internally wired differently.
I just need to know enough o start recording a first voice in my little home studio, nothing really complicated but just need to know what to purchase.
I am also using Sonar x3 producer.
