What are the best studio headphones?

The best for studio work are open backed.

i use "Sennheiser HD650 Open Back Studio Headphones" , these are another level above beats by dre and the commercial ones you see everywhere

They dont color the sound as much, this is important for me when im mixing and checking.

If you are under a limited budget I'd go with some AKG240 I have them and they are quite nice and quite unbias they are pretty good on the low end, I don't know if they are 100% Neutral but for the price they are pretty damn close. You can get them on amazon for 90$. The AKG240MKII,

On a down side if you really crank them things can get a little muddy, but for recording it is completely foolish to crank the volume all the way anyways.

**** those beats by dre I mean seriously they have trendsetter written all over them. My seinheisser cx-500s would destroy those pos HAHA.
