Casio WK-3000 - Bought from ebay for £55

Can import rythms from Roland and yamaha using third party software. Importing wav files using the casio software must be in 16bit as won't recognize 24bit, but this is a home keyboard and is no detriment to the system, considering cds use 16bit 44.1khz sample rate so pointless in my opinion to use a higher bit rate. Pitch bend wheel has a decent action without too much resistance. Mod button, but if you have a dremel there is a solder point and screw mounts in the chassis to fit a mod wheel from the high models and it works. (or just take a lead from it, put a 1/4" jack on it and plug in an expression pedal again works great on drawbar mode) Can also solder in line out sockets direct form the amplifier board as its the same one from the wk3500 so just get 2 sockets and drill out the blanks on the back panel.

The sound is really good, very dry and quite dark. But it is damn fragile. I'm a hitter, and this little cymbal was set perfectly in my game history punctuate my small dry keys. But the fragility of this cymbal shows his preference for less edgy games. You will not find that opportunity. Prefer him even AA or AAX or so of zildjian china trash (excellent) if you want to return it, otherwise the station breaks.

Ecler HAK 360 - Seductive ... BUT THE FINISH DOUBTFUL

BUT THE FINISH DOUBTFUL" />
I went back to scratches lately, I had the opportunity to buy cheaply the famous E-CLER HAK 360, a table which I had heard many positive but I never had the opportunity to thoroughly test ... this is now done. At first glance, this is a pretty solid top, larger and heavier than most other mixers. To make a fast turn at the main features is quite extensive and even more than complete with respect to other tables with entries LINE / PHONO / MIX / SESSION / EFFECT / REC RCA, 4 outputs including 2 RCA and 2 XLR mic input, headphone jack. Eternal Cross Fader from E-cler, both faders and their respective settings curve on the side a bit like the Vestax PMC 07 at. Finally, from an aesthetic point of view it's pretty simple with her black dress and gray façade metal pots in platiques

TC Electronic BH250 - Excellent value for money

by moixjj on 04-18-2014 02:49 AM

I will not dwell on the features that have been discussed in great length on this site. If I can give a personal opinion, it lacks an effects loop to bypass the preamp (by plugging directly into the "return") because I have a Tech21 VT Deluxe preamp that I love. Otherwise it is flawless. The finish is decent, despite a fault on the mute switch that wanders a bit. The red metal facade is very well made and I find aesthetically more successful than its big sister, the BH500. I bought it to play at home and to overcome my tube amp when I have a concern. Characteristics therefore seemed almost perfect to riquiqui price.

From everything I've heard (3 different drummers) is TOP TOP! There's even a guy who bought me the day I put it on sale! I am amused with me of course and what I liked most is a feeling of lightness and strength controlled at the same time and all possible settings to put his foot perfectly. Quality level that feels right it's good stuff, well tough. Box, manual and utensils ... everything is there. I'm not a drummer but I think it is worth it! 8 because I know that half of what I mean :)

For two weeks, and quite frankly I thought I had time to adapt longer, well no! It is super intuitive. Everything falls to hand, integrating my work surface is nickel: stack the width of a computer keyboard. Have you tried many other models before buying it? Yes: command 8 Faderport (I always use with the Console 1) Procontrol, etc ... What is the particular feature you like best and least? The pros: - Ergonomics (it happens very quickly to what is sought / desired) - Sound quality (although that could not compare with a real SSL, I had some other Neve and UAD 4K = is a bit different, but not better or worse ... Differ) - Construction (strong / metal present fairly, plush) The -: - Price - On Protools: the assignment of tracks and track names is manually (for now) How would you rate the quality / price? With experience, you do again this choice? ... I find the price / quality ratio is very good. With my old controller Procontrol kind, I could never what I wanted without going back to the mouse. Here, with the purchase of some additional plug Softube to complete the palette, I find sufficient tools that I have available. A view over time.

Near-field, in my opinion, do not use further 2m-2m50. For professional use. For musical use is qd limit yourself because of the bass response. Well suited to multimedia, broadcast, etc ... No protection, manipulate, move, restore them to their original styrofoam, it's always a bit delicate. They have a little fragile air and twitter is really not well protected. Basically, they are made to be unpacked and installed, period. Their ignition is on the back ... even designers who think back to those who use their product ... It should not however be complicated to switch to the front ... anyway .

    Shure GLXD24/SM86 - WOW!

by oldrags on 04-17-2014 05:08 PM

I could borrow this Shure GLXD24/SM86 (condenser, about US$ 650.-) along with a Sennheiser XSw 35 (dynamic, about US$450) for about a week and check them out. I thought it was going to be hard to decide between the two, but I was wrong. This wireless SM86 just blew my mind. SOUND The sound is just incredible. You get the definition of a good live condensor microphone (I personnally like and use the EV Cardinal). I tought that in a loud environment, the dynamic XSw might do just as well, but I was wrong. When rehearsing with our fusion band (www.soundcloud.com/soark), everyone found that at similar volumes, my voice could be heard clearly with the Shure, but not so much with the Sennheiser. The Shure makes me feel comfortable, because I know I can sing into it high or low, soft or yell all I've got and it will sound wonderful. This may be subjective, but singing the same loud song felt tiring with the Sennheiser and relaxing with the Shure. Wow... FEEDBACK RESISTANCE To my surprise, in our 3x4m rehearsal room, monitors cranked way up, the Shure didn't seem to generate more feedback problems than the Sennheiser. WIRELESS The digital wireless works great. There is no fuzz at all and I had to go outside the building (10m, one brick and one concrete walls in between) to get the sound to break down. You can't change the antennas on the receiver, but I doubt my wireless needs will surpass the original ones in the next few years. My only uncertainty: I wonder how solid the link is gonna be on stages with many 2.4Ghz devices around. HARDWARE The battery system is very cool. You get many hours out of it before the light turns red and when that happens, you can still go on for at least an hour (haven't tried to go further). To charge the battery, you can pop it right into the receiver unit, or you can even plug the mic directly into a USB port to charge the battery (micro USB). The mic and receiver are made of plastic, which is light and looks solid enough for my needs.

    Fender Champion 100 - A real Fender!

    by strat'man on 04-17-2014 04:31 PM

Everything has already been said about the Fender website ... It is said that it is a 2 channel but I think there are many more, each simulation on the second channel provides sounds separate property of each other The switch pedal comes with the amp and it's really nice to have! Otherwise design side, I think this is not the best finish ever, but it's still okay (fabric protection is not very taut and the plate on which it is stretched a thin plate is not securely attached , just above the plate where there hp ... maybe a simple design flaw on my model, but nothing dramatic, I recollerai it one of these days ... so far the amp n has no vibration and that's great, even cranked!) The weight of 18kg is correct (only 2 kg heavier than the Mustang 3 I hesitate to take ... and 4 kg more than the blues junior) So basically, apart from a small retail point of finish, the amp looks solid and 2 hp seem to be of good quality (they are not oiled, but already they released some great sounds, I can not imagine that they require a change later) Otherwise side connector when you plug an mp3 on the Aux or in power, the volume is low, so a small disappointment, I really expected more volume (like the Frontman 25R is really very good for a stick mp3 and play along ...) I read on a U.S. forum that someone had a problem of "hot" my amp even after several hours of operation remains completely cold (no heating, nothing, nada!).

Novation Launchpad S - Very satisfying!

by RedPen on 04-17-2014 08:08 AM

I used the S Launchpad for 4 months, I later sold to purchase a home AKAI APC 40. I had not tried to Launchpad or other products from Novation. It is very easy to use, it includes its configuration instantly ... it's Live at your fingertips! We launch clips, scenes, we can handle the volume of tracks, Sends, thanks to the panoramic MIXER mode which is very convenient. The USER mode is very effective: It has the ability to play drums for example, and save-the-fly live. In addition, the S version which lit pads have a more vivid color, and the feel is very nice. Launchpad even comes with skins for FL Studio (I do not use) which is designed for users of this software. What I like most about this product is its ease of transportation, use, and quality workmanship. The USER mode is awesome and the interface is very well thought out! Indeed, Novation had the good idea to set slip pad under the controller. I bought it with cover for storage, it was perfect. What I like least is the lack of faders or knobs. Obviously, the S Launchpad does not claim to be an "all in one". For a more complete controller that manages more features, better to turn to an Akai APC 40 or at home Livid Instruments CNTRL; however, this is not the same budget. Managing the volume could be a little more specific in the MIXER section: the volume is managed by leaps 6DB and nothing else. In conclusion, the S Launchpad is a handy controller, well thought out, versatile and well built, the price is attractive! PS: The Launchpad S is essentially dedicated to Ableton Live, although skins for FL are provided, it is with Ableton Live controller that can express all its qualities background! With hindsight, I would definitely do it again the same choice, Novation has pulled it off! Jibé RedPen alias.

Each of the two outputs (except tuner) has its independent volume control, which adjusts the intensity of the signal sent to one or other of the outputs. It's simple, the Lehle Dual job done perfectly, without noise and without loops. I play 2 amps in concert, sometimes alternating, often in unison and Dual is impeccable. It's been almost 7 years that I use and I've never had the beginning of a problem. The quality gear at a price ... certainly significant, but it is the price of peace.
