Back to the list of words starting with a U

Posted by: Unknown

(This is a music thoery term) Tensions or chord tones farther from the root of a chord that form a familiar shape. This happens all the time, for example: Here is a typical R&B voicing in G minor. Left Hand: G Right Hand(the upper structure): F A C The Fmaj triad is made of the 7, 9 and 11 of G. It sounds good to the ear, because a triad is a familiar sound, so even though it\'s a more complex chord it is easier to hear. This chord looks like a voicing for a G7sus Actually, it can also be for G-11, just w/o 3 or 5.
