A guitarist jamming along to a drum beat would be considered as synchronised.
sequencers, synthesisers and anything with MIDI can ussually be synchronised to one another. Ussually one unit would be the Master and would send Time Code or MIDI Clock Data to all the others.
\'in sync\' is a common phrase for the above.
